"Whilst Collins devoted a long essay - now by far the best known of his written works - to 'The Vision of the Fool', he did not leave us anything comparable for the angel. This is what makes the present book, in spite of its brevity, of special value, for here we find set out for the first time his inner thoughts with regard to the meaning of the Angel"

Cecil Collins (1908 - 1989) created some of the most profound and beautiful images of any twentieth century painter and is widely regarded as England's most important visionary artist since William Blake.
His writing speaks directly to today's world. His address on Angels is available here for the first time in its original form, edited by Stella Astor and published by Fool's Press.
Reputed to be one of the great drawing teachers of his time, this book also touches upon aspects of Collins' teaching.
This website serves as an introduction to this book, and offers extracts from the text and illustrations.
